Save Vic Market campaign

Stallholders & traders at the Queen Victoria Market are joining together with the community to protect our Market; its people and its history.

People are joining the Community Membership of the NUW to fund a community organiser to help stallholders and the community campaign for:

Security of tenure for stallholders, traders and businesses during and after redevelopment

Protecting the heritage of the Market as an open-air, working market

Stallholder and community voices to be heard, with representatives on the QVM Board

Stallholders and the community held their first union mass meeting on 20 July and drafted a log of issues. There will me ongoing mass meetings for members to work together on the goals and activities of this community campaign.
